What this is
The Showcase is a hosted single-page artist profile on theartroom.ie/artists/your-name. We design and build it from materials you submit. We host it on our infrastructure. You don’t need your own domain, your own admin, or any technical setup.
What you pay
€150 one-time setup fee (or €100 for the first ten founding members). The setup fee covers building your page.
After your first year, €50/year to renew. Same rate for all members, founding or otherwise. Renewal covers hosting, foundational SEO maintenance, and one full content refresh annually.
Payment is annual. We’ll send you a Revolut payment link when your application is accepted, and again at renewal time. No automatic charges, no surprise renewals. Every year you’ll get a renewal reminder and a fresh link, and you decide whether to continue.
Updates to your page outside of your annual refresh are €10 per update, payable before the change is made. After we publish your page you have 48 hours to request corrections at no extra cost — please send them in a single consolidated email. Anything non-urgent can always wait for your annual refresh at no cost.
What we build
- One page at theartroom.ie/artists/your-name
- Up to eight works displayed with full metadata (title, year, medium, dimensions)
- Bio and artist statement
- Links to your shop, social media, personal site
- Foundational SEO (your name in the URL, meta description, structured data)
- Hosting and uptime managed by us
- One full content refresh per year at renewal time (swap up to six works, update bio, refresh statement)
What we’ll need from you
Once you’re accepted, we’ll ask for the materials below. You don’t need to prepare them now — this is just so you know what’s involved.
- Up to 8 works — For each work: a high-resolution image (longer edge ≥ 2000px is ideal), plus its title, year, medium, and dimensions (e.g. “80 × 100 cm”).
- Short bio — One or two short paragraphs — where you trained, where you’re based, the shape of your practice. We can use the version from your application, or you can refine it.
- Artist statement — A longer paragraph or two on the work itself — what you’re exploring and why.
- One-line practice description — A single sentence that captures your practice (e.g. “Painter of Dublin interiors”). It sits under your name on the page.
- A pull-quote (optional) — A short, memorable line in your own words, shown large on the page. Optional.
- Selected exhibitions (optional) — A few lines of CV — solo and group shows, with year and venue. Optional, but it adds weight.
- Headshot (optional) — A portrait if you’d like one on the page. Square crop works best. Skip if you’d rather not.
- Links & contact (optional) — Anywhere the page should point — your website, Instagram, shop — and an email address for inquiries.
What we don’t build
To keep the Showcase tier focused and affordable, these things are explicitly outside scope:
- Your own domain (no custom domain support; the page lives on theartroom.ie)
- Self-edit admin (no logins for you; we make the changes)
- Multiple pages (one page only; no separate /works, /about, /contact)
- E-commerce (you can link to your existing shop, no built-in selling)
- Email hosting (we don’t set up custom email addresses for you)
- Analytics dashboards or traffic reports
- Guaranteed search rankings (we do the SEO foundation, but search results take months and depend on factors outside our control)
If you need any of these, our other tiers (Rescue, Essential, Practice, Bespoke) may suit you better. Showcase members can upgrade at any time and we’ll credit your unused Showcase year toward the upgrade.
Your work
You retain full ownership of everything you submit. We use it only to build and display your page. We won’t use your work for marketing, promotion of other artists, or any commercial purpose outside of your own page on the site.
By submitting work, you confirm that it’s your own original art and not generated by AI. If we discover a member has misrepresented their work, we reserve the right to remove the page with no refund.
Renewal
About 30 days before your year ends, we’ll send you a renewal reminder. To continue, pay the next year’s invoice using the fresh Revolut link in that email.
If you don’t renew within 14 days of expiry, your page is unpublished. We keep it in our archive for 30 more days in case you change your mind. After that, the page is permanently deleted along with all submitted materials.
Editorial discretion
Acceptance to the Showcase is at our editorial discretion. We’re looking for working visual artists with a coherent body of work, original practice, and alignment with the studio’s sensibility. Not every applicant fits, and that’s by design. A curated showcase is what gives the network its value.
We reserve the right to remove pages that violate our editorial criteria (for example, if the practice changes substantially in a direction that no longer fits). In such cases, we’ll give 30 days’ notice and pro-rate any refund.
Leaving
You can request your page be removed at any time by emailing studio@theartroom.ie. We’ll unpublish it within seven days and delete your materials within 30 days. We don’t offer pro-rated refunds for early cancellation, but you keep the page through the end of your paid period unless you specifically ask us to remove it sooner.
Privacy
We collect and process your data in line with our privacy policy. The materials you submit (bio, statement, works, links) are published on your public page. Your contact information stays private and is used only for Showcase-related correspondence.
Changes to these terms
If we need to change any of this, we’ll let existing members know by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Existing members can choose to continue on the previous terms until their current renewal, or end their membership without penalty.
